This spring we started a joint research project on AI and Bildung in Teacher Education in Norway.
New article published by ProDiCatE member Ilka Nagel:
Nagel, I. (2025). Promoting professional digital competence in student teachers: teacher educators’ task perception matters. European Journal of Teacher Education, 1–19. https://doi.org/10.1080/02619768.2025.2482932
Following the CSET meeting in Kristianssand lead by "Prodicator" Cathrine Tømte, an opinion piece was published by Tømte and 5 colleagues: "Hva er rett bruk av skjerm i agderskolen?" [What's the best way to apply technology in schools in Agder?]
Three of the "Prodicators", Ann-Thérèse Arstorp, Cathrine Tømte and Ilka Nagel, followed Neil Selwyns invitation to connect. They organised and participated in two local CSET (Critical Studies of education and technology) meetings in Norway.
We believe fostering Bildung in teacher education is of utmost importance in times of AI - and had the opportunity to discuss our ideas during a symposium with Neil Selwyn (Monash University, Australia) at the UdforskAI conference at the University of Agder (02. Dec 2024 — 03. Dec 2024. )
On December 4th 2024 we officially named our consortium ProDiCaTE - Professional Digital Competance, Bildung and Teacher Education. Our group of researchers has been meeting regularly since October 2023 and been discussing Professional Digital Competence (PDC), Professional development, Bildung, Digital technologies, Agency and Digital citizenshiip.
