Prof. Cathrine E. Tømte just published an artcile in Nytt Norsk Tidsskrift (in Norwegian): This article explores a relatively under-researched aspect of contemporary Norwegian educational history: the digitalisation of the school sector. It takes as its point of departure two national initiatives – the National Network for IT in Education (1997–2010) and the Centre for ICT in Education (2010–2018) – and draws on document analysis and interviews with key stakeholders from this period. The purpose is to examine earlier approaches to the digitalisation of Norwegian schools and, informed by these experiences, to contribute to ongoing discussions on how best to address current challenges related to digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
